NORTHERN CLARK CO. SHOOTING INVESTIGATED

Clark County authorities hope to talk to the man they say was shot after he broke into a home southeast of Thorp.The incident happened early Saturday morning.
Two men allegedly broke into the home. The residents, one male and one female, were sleeping, but were awakened by the break-in, according to Chief Deputy Jim Backus of the Clark County Sheriff?s Department.
An altercation ensued, ending when one of the intruders was shot in the lower extremities, he says.
No one is under arrest in regards to this incident, but one of the suspects was taken into custody on a probation hold.
The injured party remains hospitalized in Marshfield. His condition is not known.
No other information is being released as officials continue their investigation.
It appears the intruders knew the people that lived at the residence. Investigators stress they don?t believe this was a random act and they?re confident the public is not at risk.
