Marshfield’s Wildwood Zoo Offers Tips on How Residents Can Help Support Their Animals

Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 -- 9:00 AM

(Tom Loucks/Communications Director) Marshfield’s Wildwood Zoo has received many inquiries about how residents can help support animal care and enrichment.

According to Tom Loucks, Communications Director with the City of Marshfield, donations of approved food items and supplies are welcome. Accepted food donations include unseasoned beef, chicken or turkey, salmon, tuna, venison, eggs, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, mealworms, and select pantry items.

The Zoo also accepts a variety of supplies, including gallon-size bags, cardboard boxes (no tape or glue), pinecones, newspapers, garden hoses, and cleaning supplies. Pork products, seasoned items, or heavily freezer-burned food cannot be accepted.

Donations may be dropped off daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the staff building near the bear exhibit. An Amazon wish list is also available for direct shipping of enrichment items.

Community support helps care for the animals and supports Zoo staff, and donations may be designated to specific animals upon request.
