Safe Driving Tips for Frigid Temperatures
Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 -- 11:01 AM
(Wisconsin Radio Network) Here are some safe driving tips for this week’s frigid temperatures.
According to the Wisconsin Radio Network, make sure your tires are properly inflated, as tire pressure can drop by about one psi for every 10-degrees the temp drops.
You should also keep an emergency kit in your vehicle with extra clothes, food, and a phone charger in case you get stranded. Always make sure your fuel tank is at least half full to prevent the gas lines from freezing.
If you do get stranded on the side of the road, it’s important to stay in your car when you call for help. More safety tips can be found on the Wisconsin Department of Transportation website.
