Columbus Catholic High School junior Kenai Volkman recently participated in the 2025 Annual Report Briefing with the Wisconsin Office of Children’s Mental Health, held at the State Capitol on Friday, January 9.
Kenai, who is one of the state’s 15 Mental Wellness Champions working with OCMH, was selected as one of only four Wisconsin high school students to serve as a featured speaker at the event. The students shared personal stories focused on mental health and belonging.
During the briefing, OCMH released the 2025 Annual Report on Children’s Mental Health and Belonging, highlighted its work for the year, reviewed key data trends, and shared recommendations and resources supporting youth mental health.
More than 160 attendees, both in person and via Zoom, participated in the event and engaged the students in a 25-minute Q&A session following the briefing.
