Alabama Man Sentenced to Prison for Sexually Assaulting a Woman in Wausau

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) An Alabama man who came to Wausau to meet a woman after giving her a false name to hide his criminal past will serve prison time for sexually assaulting her
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Logan Craft will serve nine years in prison and ten years on extended supervision after pleading guilty to sexual assault and strangulation. Six counts were dismissed as part of the deal.
Craft, 33, met the woman online and traveled from his home in Montgomery, Alabama, to meet her in 2023. When she turned down his advances, he forced himself on her and strangled her until she lost consciousness.
nvestigators say he also took photos of the incident, then threatened to release them. Previous charges against him include sexual assault of a child and strangulation from a 2017 incident in Alabama.
Terms of his sentence include treatment and therapy, and a lifetime placement on the sex offender registry. He will also be monitored as a serious offender.
