Tomah Man Charged with Theft and Other Drug Related Charges

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) A Tomah man is charged with theft and drug related charges, according to WEAU staff.

According to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, on Dec. 20, 2025, at around 11:22 a.m., deputies responded to a theft complaint at 22475 STH 21 in Tomah, Wis.

This is the location of VB Storage. The victim reported that their camper, along with others, had been broken into recently. The press release says at 8:15 p.m. the same day, deputies responded to a report of a suspect at VB Storage believed to be actively stealing things.

The suspect is believed to have cut a hole in the fence to gain access to the property. Deputies arrived to investigate. A K9 and his handler found the suspect near a vehicle where he allegedly cut off a catalytic converter. The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Mark Sayre Jr.

Sayre Jr. was arrested and booked into the Monroe County Jail. Online court records show Sayre Jr. is charged in Monroe County Circuit Court with possession of methamphetamine, criminal damage to property, attempt theft-movable property <=$2500, and possess drug paraphernalia.

Online court records also show a $2,500 signature bond is set for Sayre Jr., and an initial court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 2, 2026.
