(Steve Barg, City of Marshfield’s City Administrator) Marshfield City Administrator Steve Barg provided some updates from the City’s most recent Common Council Meeting.

According to Steve Barg, City Administrator with the City of Marshfield, Judge Adam Kruse has submitted his resignation as the City’s municipal court judge, effective January 9, 2026.  An effort will be made soon to appoint a temporary replacement, with an election expected later in 2026.

Candidates must be a resident of one of the three participating communities and an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin. The court is operated jointly under an agreement with the Village of Spencer and the Village of Stratford.

Also, on December 16, 2025, the Plan Commission and Common Council both approved the construction of Panda Express on a 2-acre property located at 106 North Peach Avenue (near the intersection of North Central Avenue and North Peach Avenue). This popular national fast-food chain will have a dual-lane drive-through, facilitating effective and efficient customer service during anticipated peak hours.

Finally, on December 16, the Council approved an updated fee schedule for licenses, permits, and certain other services. While most fees will remain unchanged from 2025, the 2026 schedule does include some adjustments to fees in the areas of planning, engineering, fire, finance, and the clerk’s department.

The new fees take effect on January 1, 2026, and the updated schedule will be posted on the City’s website soon.
