Neillsville School Board Hears Building and Grounds Update, Approves Early Graduation Requests, and More

The Neillsville School Board heard a building project update by Building and Grounds Director Mark Spencer.
The Board also approved the 4K full-day schedule for 2026-2027 school year and the early graduation requests for seven students. The Board also approved the 2026 membership in the Neillsville Improvement Corporation.
For donations, the Board approved a donation of handmade hats from Sue West and the monetary donation from TriCor Insurance. For employment matters, the Board approved the resignation of Chelsea Schmidt from her varsity volleyball coaching position, Riley Anderson from her JV volleyball coaching position, and Will Schlinsog from his varsity golf coaching position.
The Board also approved the assistant wrestling coach contract revision for Carl Opelt and the assistant wrestling coach contract revision for Kenny Friemoth.
The Board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Marcy Kunze reported on:
- Attendance;
- Monthly character trait;
- AimWeb Plus and FastBridge testing;
- Upcoming data meetings;
- 5K field trip to Vine Tree Farm;
- And 4K holiday concert.
Middle School Principal Jesse Bernhagen reported on:
- Attendance;
- FastBridge testing;
- Middle school leadership team meeting;
- Classroom updates;
- Climate and culture activities;
- Upcoming events;
- And middle school sports.
The board received a written report from High School Principal Jennifer Aspenson on:
- Enrollment;
- Academics;
- Holiday volunteering;
- And student activities.
District Administrator Corey Peterson presented Transportation Director Adam Krause’s report on:
- Driver numbers;
- Bus garage clean up;
- A bus drivers’ tablet for Lynx software;
- Reimbursement for winter bus charging;
- And research on all- inclusive transportation software.
Finally, Mr. Peterson reported on:
- Thank you notes from Connie Elmhorst;
- Seal-a-Smile;
- Kitchen staff and Adam Smrcka;
- Holiday concerts;
- The state assembly’s bills on school consolidation;
- DPI Report Cards;
- Infinite Campus online registration for 2026-2027;
- And strategic planning outreach.
