Marshfield School Board Approves Resolution to Request an Exemption for the Start of the Next School Year
Thursday, December 11th, 2025 -- 9:01 AM

The Marshfield School Board approved a resolution to request an exemption for the start of the next school year.
Due to the District’s referendum work, the Board approved a resolution to request an exemption from the Department of Public Instruction to begin the 2026-2027 school year prior to September 1, 2026, specifically on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The Board also approved a budget amendment. This budget amendment involves no change in total revenue or expenditure. The reclassification of these accounts is to comply with the Wisconsin Uniform Financial Accounting Requirements (WUFAR).
The Department of Public Instruction makes changes to WUFAR on an annual basis, and sometimes these changes involve making accounts no longer allowable. The accounts that are presented were allowable in 2024-25 but are no longer allowed in 2025-26. These changes will allow the district to submit a clean budget report to the Department of Public Instruction.
The Board also approved the iPad lease for the District starting this year and continuing to the 2028-29 school year at a cost of $299,133 for each year. This comes to a cost of $85 per student for each year.
