Wisconsin Lawmakers Introduce Bill That Would Establish Paid Family and Medical Leave in the State
Thursday, December 11th, 2025 -- 11:00 AM
(WMTV) A group of Wisconsin lawmakers introduced a bill on Tuesday that would establish paid family and medical leave in the state.
The group argued that recent shifts in the country’s economic status have complicated Wisconsinites abilities to balance both work and family life. Those who support the bill say that paid family leave would be an investment into the community, and could also help support small businesses throughout the state.
Wisconsin would be the 14th state to adopt paid family and medical leave, behind Minnesota, California, Colorado, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Oregon, Washington and Rhode Island.
