The Marshfield City Council held a public hearing on changes to the hours of operation for the Marshfield Public Transit.

During the public hearing, three people spoke against changing the hours. In the end, the Council did not approve the changes. The Council also approved supporting the Transportation Alternatives Program Grant Application for the extension of the Pecan Parkway to Griese Park Trail.

This doesn’t mean the City will be doing the project; the project won’t start until the City knows they have the grant money. The Council also approved the list of election inspectors and special voting deputies for a 2-year term (calendar years 2026-2027).

In approving the various committee meeting minutes from the past couple weeks, they also approved writing off uncollectible accounts, amending/adopting 2025 City fee schedules for certain permits, licenses, etc., approve the Scope of Services for Fiscal Year 2025 and 30% audit of TIF District #13, and approve the lease renewal for land located in Marshfield Municipal Airport.

The Board also approved the purchase of replacement bleachers in Braem Park, authorized RFP for Lincoln Avenue Lift Station project, and approved the proposal for real estate acquisition services for West 5th Street reconstruction project.

The Council also heard an update on redevelopment of the current Weinbrenner facility, but no action was taken. They heard an update on the relocation of the police department. During the Mayor’s comments, she thanked those that spoke during the public hearing regarding the taxi service hours.

The City Administrator commented on a recent site development meeting, some upcoming strategic planning meetings, meeting for the second Council meeting of December next week due to the Christmas holiday, and future agenda items.

Finally, during the Council comments, one alderman reported on the site development meeting.
