MARSHFIELD FIRE DESTROYS APARTMENT

A Thursday night fire destroyed a Marshfield apartment.The blaze tore through the Upham Village Apartments on Fig Avenue.
The apartment?s residents were not home at the time, but their two cats and six canaries died in the fire.
The building has 36 apartments, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one apartment, which is a complete loss.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze.
