One Person Killed in One Vehicle Accident in Jackson County

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) One person is dead and another is hurt after a single-vehicle crash in Jackson County Saturday evening, according to WEAU staff.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, it happened on I-94 Eastbound near Black River Falls. The driver, 67-year-old Robin Johnson of Saint Francis, lost control on the icy road and rolled into the ditch.

The driver and passenger, 69-year-old James Johnson of Saint Francis, were trapped in the vehicle. Both Robin and James were taken to the hospital. James died shortly after getting to the hospital. Robin is said to have less-severe injuries.

Troopers said Robin told them James was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash is still under investigation.
