Marathon County Sheriff's Department Investigation Single-Vehicle Crash in the Town of Spencer

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of one person at approximately 10:47 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

The crash occurred near the intersection of State Highway 13 and Merkel Road in the Town of Spencer. The 52-year-old driver, and the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing. Responding agencies included the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, Village of Spencer Fire and EMS, and the Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office.
