Marshfield Chamber of Commerce and Industry Warns of Scam
Thursday, November 20th, 2025 -- 11:01 AM
The Chamber was recently notified that a local business received an email from someone pretending to represent the Marshfield Chamber of Commerce.
The sender falsely claimed to offer this business with a membership directory list for purchase. This message did not come from us. The business became suspicious after noticing the unfamiliar name and email address and contacted us to verify before engaging.
What you should do:
- If you ever receive an email claiming to be from the Chamber and something feels off, call us directly to confirm its legitimacy.
- Do not open attachments or click on any links from unfamiliar or unexpected contacts.
- When in doubt, verify first—your caution helps protect you and others.
- Let us know. We can help push a “Scam Alert” notification to potentially help other businesses be aware of a current scam occurring.
- Contact local Law Enforcement if necessary.
Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
