City of Marshfield Announces Road Closure for Holiday Parade this Thursday
Monday, November 17th, 2025 -- 10:00 AM

The City of Marshfield announces that Central Avenue will be closed from Veterans Parkway to 11th Street beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, for the annual Downtown Holiday Parade.
The street will reopen shortly after the parade concludes. City parking lots will be available along Maple Avenue and Chestnut Avenue. West 2nd Street will also be closed from Central Avenue to Spruce Avenue to accommodate the parade float lineup, with auxiliary police personnel assisting traffic on Chestnut Avenue.
Detours for northbound and southbound traffic will use Veterans Parkway, Oak Avenue, and West 11th Street. All parking lot and driveway access along South Central Avenue will be closed during the event.
The City encourages residents and visitors to support local businesses by grabbing a warm beverage before finding a viewing spot along the route. Attendees are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs for the parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m.
Following the parade, the community is invited to the plaza for the annual tree-lighting celebration and a reindeer experience. The event will feature a sing-along to “O Christmas Tree,” a bonfire for warming up, and complimentary cookies and hot chocolate.
Forte Opening Solutions is kindly sponsoring the Reindeer Experience, and Festival Foods is sponsoring the Holiday Tree. Residents who cannot attend in person can watch live coverage provided by the City’s Marshfield Broadcasting Division and its volunteers.
The parade will air on Charter Cable Channel 990 (Marshfield NOW!) and stream on marshfieldbroadcasting.com, Facebook, Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.
The community media center also has a mobile app available for download from the Android and Apple App stores by searching for "Marshfield Broadcasting."
The Downtown Holiday Parade is organized by Main Street Marshfield, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting and enhancing the downtown district.
