Clark County Board of Supervisors Approves 2026 Budget and Levy

The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved the 2026 budget and levy at their meeting on Tuesday.

The Board approved proposed expenses of $107,965,851 and proposed revenue of $73,539,237. A proposed fund balance of $11,327,262 has been applied to reduce the levy.

The total indebtedness of Clark County as of December 31st of 2024 is $9,843,823. The Board approved a levy of $23,099,355 with a mil rate of $5.88 per thousand dollars of evaluation.

The Board also approved the application for the WIC grant for 2026, which will pay for the cost of the program at $241,795. The Board also approved the membership for the Wisconsin Counties Association, which came to $6,436.

The Board also approved the designation of Committed Funds Accounts, approved the Community Services and Social Services Contract, and approved the 2026 County Aid for bridge and culvert construction and repair, with the total coming to $169,495.28.

A resolution to increase the County Board Chair Pay and per diems for Board members failed. It required a ⅔ vote for approval, but it failed with 18 voting yes and 11 voting no.

The Board also approved the 2026 Forestry and Parks Annual Work Plan, approved the 2% non-union wage base increase, approved participation in the Employee Trust Fund Constitution Insurance Plan, and approved a $1,000 grant from the Listeman Foundation for the Aging and Disability Resource Center for their Holiday Project.

Finally, the Board approved appointments to the Clark County Library Committee.
