City of Marshfield Reminds Everyone That Only Establishments With a Liquor License May Serve Alcohol
Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 -- 9:01 AM
The City of Marshfield wants to remind everyone that only an establishment with a liquor license may serve alcohol.
No business may give away or sell alcohol at any time, even at a one-day event. Violation of this law may result in a $10,000 fine and 9 months in jail. In accordance with Wisconsin State Statute, only limited organizations qualify for a temporary alcohol license.
The City Clerk is happy to discuss possible solutions with any business owner. The regional Department of Revenue agent did visit a downtown Marshfield business last month after an illegal event was held and issued a warning.
