Wood County Sheriff’s Department Responds to Vehicle vs Train Accident
Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 -- 3:00 PM
On Monday, November 3, 2025, at approximately 2:14 p.m., the Wood County Dispatch Center received a call of a truck versus train crash on Mayflower Road, near the intersection of Hwy P in the Township of Milladore.
The Dispatch Center further advised the crash occurred on the Mayflower Road train tracks. Wood County Deputies and Fire Personnel responded to the scene. An initial on scene investigation indicates the truck was traveling northbound on Mayflower Road and parked for a railroad crossing prior to Hwy P.
In parking the truck, it was determined to be too close to the railroad right of way. While in the parked position a train did pass through the area and crashed into the truck. Significant injuries were sustained by the operator of the truck and a passenger.
These individuals were transported to a local medical facility. The Wood County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by Marshfield Ambulance, Dave's Tow Service, Wood County Dispatch Center and Auburndale Fire / 1st Responders.
This incident remains under investigation.
