"Ridin' for a Reason" Donates to the Marshfield Clinic Cancer Center

Monday, November 3rd, 2025 -- 9:01 AM

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) A big check was delivered Thursday from a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness.

According to WEAU staff, Thursday afternoon, a $30,000 check was delivered to the Marshfield Clinic Cancer Center. The money was raised through the 18th annual “Ridin’ for a Reason” rally held at Loopy’s Grill and Saloon in Chippewa Falls.

“We have some people that drive as far away as 500, 600 miles to come join us every year. We’re working with a lot of different groups to help us out, to pull this off. Again, it’s all our great sponsors. One Automotive has stepped up to be one of our great sponsors."

"We got a bar down in Durand, the Corral Bar, been with us from the very start. Even when they’re not our stop they always come with a great check, great sponsor. Again, it’s all about the sponsors the riders, the volunteers, so we can bring this to Marshfield Clinic,” said Loopy Kleich, the owner of Loopy’s Grill and Saloon.

Hundreds of motorcyclists come out for the event, but organizers welcome everyone, bike or not, to come to support the cause. The next drive will be June 6, 2026. Kleich started the event in honor of his wife who died of breast cancer.

He says in the last several years, “Ridin’ for a Reason” has donated well over $500,000 to the cause. All of the money is donated to Marshfield Clinic’s mobile mammography unit.
