Wednesday, October 29th, 2025 -- 9:00 AM
(WSAW) County Market in Wausau will cease operations in two weeks. The store will re-open as Hy-Vee on Nov. 18.
According to WSAW, the store is currently discounting some of its merchandise during the transition. It will close at 6 p.m. on Nov. 11. Hy-Vee is also taking over the adjacent Circle K convenience store, which will be rebranded as a Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh location.
County Market is located at 220 S. 18th Avenue in Wausau. “We’re excited to have this opportunity to be part of the Wausau community,” said Kory Robinson, Regional Vice President for Hy-Vee’s Madison region. “We look forward to bringing Hy-Vee’s quality, convenience and culinary expertise to customers next month, and to being part of the local community.”
All of the 130 full-time and part-time employees of the County Market will be offered positions as Hy-Vee employees, and have access to Hy-Vee benefits. To learn more about career opportunities at Hy-Vee, click here
