LOCAL DAIRY GETS GRANT

A local dairy is getting a state grant to develop a new, specialty butter.Governor Jim Doyle Wednesday that Grassland Dairy near Greenwood will receive nearly $11,000 in Value Added Dairy Initiative Dairy processor grants. Grassland will use the money to develop a specialty butter with the potential to expand to the international marketplace.
The Value Added Dairy Initiative Dairy processor grant program offers funding to individuals or groups, businesses and organizations to help fund projects geared at innovation, market development and modernization of dairy processing.
