The Neillsville Police Department announced that every sworn patrol officer has completed training and has been issued a department-approved less-than-lethal device.

This initiative enhances officer and civilian safety by providing additional options to resolve dangerous situations without resorting to lethal force. This project was financially supported in part by the Listeman Foundation.

“We want to thank the Listeman Foundation for their generosity and commitment to public safety in our community," said Chief Jim Mankowski. "Their support helped make this program possible and allowed us to equip every member of the department with these important tools."

Chief Mankowski emphasized that these devices are not a substitute for communication or de-escalation, but an added layer of safety. "Our goal is always to resolve incidents peacefully. This equipment helps us do that more effectively and safely."

The Neillsville Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to the Listeman Foundation for its investment in community safety and for its support of our initiatives.
