(Mike Leischner, WSAU) The Wausau man accused of abusing and threatening an 18-month-old boy during an argument with the child’s parents has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Chinsia Lee entered the plea in a Marathon County courtroom on Wednesday, where a judge also bound the 32-year-old over for trial. He is accused of picking the boy up by his hair and holding a knife to his body.
According to the child’s parents, Lee had just been kicked out of the home but managed to get back inside. Investigators say he demanded money while threatening the boy. The victim was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
Lee, who has no fixed address, is being held on a $75,000 cash bond. A pretrial conference is scheduled for December 17th. He faces two felony counts for recklessly endangering safety and child abuse, which could land him in prison for more than 18 years.
Charges against him also include misdemeanor counts of bail jumping, disorderly conduct, and trespassing.
