Neillsville School Board Approves 2025-26 Tax Levy

The Neillsville School Board held their annual and regular meeting on Monday.

During the annual meeting, the Board approved a Fund 10 levy in the amount of $4,322,724, Fund 39 levy in the amount of $922,650, and Fund 80 levy in the amount of $75,000, for a final tax levy of $5,320,224 for the 2025-2026 school year as presented and then approved the finalization of the 2025-26 budget.

The Board also approved the board salaries and per diems at the current rate and to authorize reimbursement for expenses. The Board also approved that, until the next annual meeting, the school board be authorized to sell or otherwise dispose of all unused, outdated or obsolete supplies, equipment and materials.

The Board also approved to authorize the sale of any property belonging to or not needed by the School District of Neillsville and to authorize temporary borrowing for cash flow purposes. Finally, the Board set the date for the next annual meeting date for October 19th, 2026, at 7:00pm.

During the regular board meeting, the Board heard a building project update and they approved contracting services with West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.

The Board also approved the Achievement Gap Reduction Report and approved the out-of-state field trip for the high school band and choir departments to Florida. The Board also approved the donation of water bottles, tissues, paper towels, hygiene products, and colored pencils from Unity Bank.

The Board also discussed employment matters. The Board approved the resignation of Eric Moltzen from his teaching assistant position. The Board also approved the Memorandum of Understanding for leave for Jeff Hanson and the Memorandum of Understanding for leave for Tammy Loberg.

The Board also approved the hiring of Paige Voigt for the teaching assistant position, Samantha Larrabee for the assistant softball coach position, and Jeremy La Mont for the middle school assistant track coach position. The Board also approved a long list of policies.
