Wood County DA Determines a Deceased Man Responsible for 2006 Death

Tuesday, October 21st, 2025 -- 1:01 PM

The Wood County District Attorney has determined that a deceased man was responsible for the death of Diedre Harm in 2006.

Sheriff Shawn Becker says the case has been closed, and District Attorney Jonathan Barnett has determined that Chris Revak was responsible for Harm’s death. “This may provide closure for many, but won’t bring Harm back,” said Becker. “Our thoughts and prayers will always be with [her] family.”

Becker also thanked everyone involved with the investigation over the years. Harm was killed in June 2006 after a night out at a Wisconsin Rapids bar. Her remains were discovered five months later near the Wood County Rifle Range.

Revak committed suicide in a jail cell as he was awaiting trial for the death of a woman in Missouri. At one time, he was also considered a person of interest in the disappearance and death of Mason City, Iowa, news anchor Jodi Huisentruit.

However, he has never been named as a responsible party in that case. He was originally from the Wisconsin Rapids area.
