Wood County Parks and Forestry Department Give Public Notice of Campground Closures on October 31st

The Wood County Parks and Forestry Department would like to give public notice that South Wood County and North Wood County Park campgrounds will close for the season on October 31st.

Wood County Cera Park is closed for the season. Dexter County Park campground will remain open until December 1st, 2025. The 2nd and 3rd loops will remain open during this time and will be available for camping by reservation only.

Dump stations and potable water will remain available until October 31st , then weather dependent thereafter at this location. Dexter has a heated shower building that will remain open until closing.

The ATV Intensive Use Area, Nepco Lake County Park, and the South Park Storm Shelter buildings are all available to rent throughout the year. Please visit their online reservation system to check availability and reserve for your special event.

They would like to thank everyone who came out and enjoyed camping and other various recreational activities in the parks this season and they hope to see you again next year. As a reminder, camping and shelter reservations can be made one year in advance.

So, make those reservations today! Have a safe, fun, and snowy winter! Watch for notices pertaining to the opening of our multi-use groomed trails, snowmobile trails, and the Powers Bluff Winter Sports Recreation Area.
