Eau Claire Woman Sentenced for Her Connection to the Death of an Eau Claire Man

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) Another Eau Claire woman was sentenced Tuesday in connection to the death of a man in Eau Claire County three years ago.

According to WEAU staff, as we’ve reported, Vanessa Ketteman pled guilty to one count of felony murder-false imprisonment in November 2023. She is one of three people charged in the shooting death of Eddie Banks. Banks was found dead in a ditch on Mallard Road, north of Foster, in June 2022.

Tuesday in Eau Claire County Circuit Court, Ketteman was sentenced to 14 months of prison followed by 5 years and three months of extended supervision. However, she already has 440 days of sentence credit for time served.

On Monday, Kristina Keppert was sentenced to seven years initial confinement for her connection to Banks’ death. The other defendant, Philip Novak, was sentenced to 20 years and 6 months in prison in June.
