(Mike Leischner, WSAU) Bond has been set at $1 million for the man accused of killing 31-year-old Jacob Socha during an argument in September.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Dustin Stinson appeared in court on Thursday, where he waived a reading of the criminal complaint. A judge then set the cash bond. Stinson is accused of shooting Socha on September 14th at a home in the Lazy Acres mobile home park near the business campus.
Officers immediately named the 34-year-old as a person of interest and took him into custody a few hours later. Socha died a few days later. Officers didn’t formally announce charges against Stinson until early October. The most serious charge, first-degree intentional homicide, carries a mandatory life sentence.
Stinson also faces felony counts of tampering with a GPS monitoring device and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Misdemeanor charges against him include violation of a domestic abuse order, criminal damage to property, and multiple counts of bail jumping.
He’ll return to court for a pretrial conference on October 14th and a preliminary hearing on October 20th.
