REP. WOOD BUSTED FOR OWI, POT

A Wisconsin lawmaker has been released from jail after an arrest on drunken driving and marijuana charges.Rep. Jeffrey Wood (Independent-Bloomer) was arrested in Columbia County early Friday morning.
Records indicate Wood was booked on charges of operating while intoxicated-first offense and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The deputy says Wood was booked at about 3 a.m. and released by about 9 a.m., when he posted $200 bond.
No formal charges have been filed.
Wood, a champion of the so-called Taxpayers Bill of Rights, left the Republican Part and became the first independent elected to the Wisconsin Legislature in decades.
Democrats who took control of the chamber recently made him a committee chairman.
