The Highground Veterans Memorial’s Halloween Event Coming October 29th
Monday, October 6th, 2025 -- 1:00 PM

On October 29, 2025, The Highground invites individuals and families to a thrilling, community-focused Halloween celebration that promises festive fun for all ages and a chance to make a life-saving impact.
From noon to 5pm, consider giving the ultimate treat, the gift of life, by donating blood during the Halloween blood drive, hosted by The Highground and coordinated by the Red Cross. To schedule your donation, contact Bonnie at The Highground or visit redcrossblood.org.
Consider a Power Red donation which allows the donor to safely donate two units of red blood cells during one donation. This type of donation is especially impactful and ideal for donors with blood types A negative, B negative or O. Specific eligibility requirements apply, so check with the Red Cross for details.
From 5-7pm, kids and families are invited to enjoy a safe and spirited Trunk-or-Treat experience. Expect creatively decorated cars, tables and spooky setups filled with candy and goodies galore. Volunteers with the most imaginative displays have a chance to win prizes.
Prizes will be awarded based on votes from trunk-or-treaters. The fun goes both ways as there will also be a trunk-or-treater costume contest where display volunteers get to vote for the best-dressed ghouls and goblins roaming the lot.
Those who are interested in showcasing their Halloween flair are welcome to reach out to Bonnie to reserve their spot and join the fun. Sip on hot apple cider, decorate a pumpkin and experience the eerie ambience, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
"We thought this would be a fun way to celebrate Halloween, spark creativity and support our community in a meaningful way,” shares Bonnie Pettis, The Highground donation coordinator.
"Whether you're donating blood, decorating a trunk or just soaking in the spooky vibes, there’s something for everyone.” For more information or to get involved, email Bonnie at [email protected] or call 715-743-4224.
