Osseo-Fairchild High School Students Went on Field Trip for Academic and Career Planning Program

Friday, October 3rd, 2025 -- 12:00 PM

As part of the Osseo-Fairchild School District Academic and Career Planning program, all high schoolers went on field trips Monday, September 29 to learn more about the post secondary options in the area.

The 9th grade class toured at CVTC in the morning. They had the option of touring the Health and Business programs or the Transportation and Manufacturing programs.

These tours were very interactive. After eating lunch at Carson Park, Mr. Korger drove the bus through the UW Eau Claire campus where Mrs. Marino (a UWEC Alum) gave a detailed description of the campus.

10th grade class toured at UW Stout. Students were introduced to the amenities Stout offers; listened and asked questions to a current student panel; given tours of the campus; and ate lunch at one of the campus food services.

They got to see what the inside of a dorm looks like, what different options the polytechnic (hands on) university has to offer in terms of classes and programs, and see all of the fun recreational activities available at the university.

The 11th and 12th grader started their day on the UW La Crosse campus at the Wisconsin Education Fair (WEF). They had the opportunity to talk with military representatives, 4 year public and private college representatives from WI, Michigan, South and North Dakota and Minnesota, and a few technical colleges.

After the WEF, they went on a 55 minute walking tour of the UW La Crosse campus.  They saw the inside of a dorm room, the new science building and the beautiful recreation center and a few other buildings.

After eating lunch at Riverside Park, they toured the Western Technical College campus and learned about their unique programs.
