Mike: "The Meat Auction will be this coming Saturday, October 4, and it will be at the Auburndale Park Shelter House located at 10654, Park Avenue in Auburndale, starting at eight o'clock in the evening."
Riley: "And now there's no cost to get into the auction, correct?"
Mike: "Correct, no cost for getting in. And we open up around seven o'clock. We have some free refreshments and such for people. If they wish to make a donation, that's very fine, but otherwise they are free. And then at eight o'clock, the auction begins."
"We have Randy Seidl, who has had auctioneer training and such, go and do the auction and we'll have approximately 70 packages of pork, lamb and beef, all together, combined for selling for that evening."
"The proceeds go to the FFA alumni, which they use to support the FFA in agriculture activities, both in Auburndale and Wood County and the surrounding area."
Riley: "Anything else?"
Mike: "Well, the meat has all been donated by area businesses, which was purchased at the Market Animal Sale for the Central Wisconsin State Fair and we really appreciate those area businesses, because, through their donation, we're able to use that and then raise more money to go ahead and support the youth with leadership activities, skill activities, and those types of things like helping their education."
