One Person Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Taylor County

One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Taylor County Tuesday morning.

According to a press release from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, at around 5:45 a.m., it was reported that an accident occurred on State Hwy 13 and Alfalfa Ave in the Township of Chelsea with a 2010 Ford Fusion and semi-tractor which had both caught on fire.

19-year-old Allen Madison was located inside the Ford Fusion which had been fully engulfed in flames and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-tractor trailer was provided with medical attention and had no serious injuries reported at the time.

Preliminary investigation indicates the Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on State Hwy 13 when it crossed the center line and veered into the northbound lane of traffic and caused a head-on collision with the other vehicle.

The collision caused both vehicles to start on fire. The incident is still under investigation.
