Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department Responds to Garage Fire

The Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department responded to a garage fire Sunday afternoon.

According to a release from the Department, around 4:54pm on Sunday, they were dispatched to 303 S. Palmetto Ave for the report of a garage on fire. Upon arrival there was heavy smoke and flames showing from the west side of a detached garage.

Multiple flammable compressed gas cylinders were found inside and outside the garage. Vehicles parked on the driveway made accessibility challenging. The fire department quickly extinguished the fire using multiple 1.75” hose lines.

The fire caused heavy damage to the detached garage as well as two vehicles that were parked on the driveway. Radiant heat caused damage to an exposure's vinyl siding.
