Trial Underway for Jordanian Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting a Central Wisconsin Woman

Wednesday, September 24th, 2025 -- 1:01 PM

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) The trial for a Jordanian man accused of sexually assaulting a Central Wisconsin woman is underway.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Mohammad Alsayori faces three felony counts for second-degree sexual assault, causing injury after the woman says he forced himself on her after she turned down his advances.

The couple was reportedly married under Sharia law, although no record of the marriage exists in U.S. records. Additionally, she says Alsayori had a wife and child in his home country despite his claims that he was single and childless.

He was also allegedly trying to marry another woman in Canada. Alsayori rejected a plea deal earlier this year. He faces more than 120 years in prison if found guilty. The trial is scheduled to run through Wednesday.

Day one began with housekeeping items in the morning, with the jury seated at 12:30 PM and opening statements at 2:30 PM. The rest of the day included testimony from one witness and a handful of exhibits, including a videotaped interview.

Day one adjourned at about 5:30 PM, with plans to reconvene at 8:30 this morning. At least three jurors were excused before opening statements. Court records also indicate that Alsayori’s defense attorney knew one of the jurors, likely leading to their exclusion.
