(Mike Leischner, WSAU) The Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents has named an 11-member search committee for the next permanent Chancellor of the Stevens Point campus and its three locations- Wausau, Marshfield, and Stevens Point.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Regent Jack Salzwedel will chair the Search and Screen Committee. Kristi Roth, Professor in the School of Education, will serve as vice chair. Other members of the committee are:

  • Tom Bertram, Administrative Human Resources Coordinator
  • Michael Estanich, Professor and Department Chair, College of Fine Arts and Communication
  • Noah Fritz, Regent
  • Jennifer Hess, Associate Director, Continuing Education and Outreach
  • Pete McPartland, Chairman and CEO, Sentry Insurance
  • Caden Morschauser, President, Student Government Association
  • Joan Prince, Regent
  • Linda Terwilliger, Regent
  • Jill Underly, Regent

Pratima Gandhi is serving as Interim Chancellor for the 2025-’26 academic year after former Chancellor Thomas Gibson left for the same position at UW-Milwaukee. The recommended candidate will require approval from the Board of Regents.

Whoever gets the job will walk into a growing campus, with recent numbers showing UWSP welcomed its largest first-year student class in 40 years this semester. Overall enrollment numbers released by the Regents showed more than 8,500 students taking classes this year.
