...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 6 PM CST TUESDAY...

SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND WILL THEN BECOME HEAVY DURING THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS. THERE IS A SMALL CHANCE THAT SOME FREEZING RAIN OR SLEET COULD FALL FOR A WHILE THIS AFTERNOON...BUT THIS IS NOT EXPECTED TO CREATE ANY ICE ACCUMULATIONS. THE SNOW WILL END TUESDAY AFTERNOON WITH TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 10 INCHES EXPECTED. NORTH WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 25 MPH OVERNIGHT AND TUESDAY WHICH WILL CREATE DRIFTING SNOW AND POSSIBLY SOME BLOWING SNOW. THIS WILL FURTHER HAMPER TRAVEL ACROSS THE REGION.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT... FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
