Friday, December 5th, 2008 -- 9:42 AM
The Christmas lights on the trees in front of Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville will have special significance this year. The Memorial Medical Center Partners are again sponsoring their ?Lights of Love? program.
"We light three trees. (White) lights are in memory, the red and green lights are to honor someone special and the blue lights are in prayerful concern of someone," explains group president Marcia Lewis.
Over 850 lights have been sponsored this year. At three dollars apiece, the program will raise over $2,500 for scholarships.
"We give three $500 scholarships to a student going into the medical field," she says.
On top of the scholarships, the Partners also help MMC with equipment purchases. They're currently helping transform the lower unit of the Health and Rehab facility into an assisted living facility.
There will be a special lighting ceremony at Memorial Medical Center this Sunday at 7 p.m.
