A 6-year-old girl reported missing from Portage County has been found safe.
According to WSAW-TV, Ruby Lehmann was reported missing from her grandmother’s home in Almond Thursday afternoon. An Amber Alert was issued Thursday night. Ruby’s family told investigators her uncle, Jordan Coyle, had taken her from her grandmother’s house.
In a press conference Saturday evening, Portage County Sheriff Mike Lukas said Ruby was found just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
While conducting grid searches with more than 50 officers, Colye’s white Ford F250 pickup truck was found in the school forest near Almond. Special response teams were dispatched to search the area, and they then found Coyle and Ruby in the woods. Coyle was taken into custody. Sheriff Lukas says charges will be referred to the Portage County District Attorney’s Office.
