Marshfield Police Department Warns of Identity Theft Scams

On September 4th, the Marshfield Police Department started to receive numerous related identity theft complaints.
The investigation revealed that the suspect used several victims’ financial cards and credit cards to acquire money. The crimes were carried out by the use of a payment processing system, where the suspect would tap the victim’s cards onto a device to receive payment. Please review your statements for a $25.00 transaction labeled as “SQ*Spectrum” between the dates of 09/01/2025 through 09/05/2025.

A suspect has been identified and is cooperating with this investigation, which is still pending. Charges related to this investigation will be forthcoming. No further information will be released at this time.
