One Person Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Jackson County

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) One man is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Jackson County, and troopers believe alcohol may be to blame.
According to WEAU staff, it happened on I-94, south of Black River Falls shortly before 10:30 p.m. Monday night. According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, both vehicles were traveling westbound when they hit each other, sending one car into a ditch.
That car overturned, throwing the driver from the car. The victim, a 30-year-old man from Butte, Montana died at the scene. Investigators believe he was not wearing a seatbelt and was driving under the influence.
His name has not been released pending the notification of family. The driver of the other car, a 52-year-old man from St. Paul, Minnesota, was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
Assisting agencies included Jackson Co. Sheriff’s Office, Black River Falls Fire and Rescue, and Black River Falls Ambulance. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
