(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A former Wisconsin State Patrol trooper is accused of possessing and sharing more than 120 images and videos containing child pornography.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Michael Klingenberg of Edgar is facing ten counts, according to court filings made this week. Investigators say they received a tip about the files from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Digital evidence tied them to an IP address and email account associated with the 62-year-old. Investigators added that some of the videos showed a man appearing to be Klinenberg engaged in sex acts with boys. Others showed children as young as 4.
Klingenberg is being held in the Marathon County Jail on a $75,000 bond with several conditions, including a full no-contact order against one victim, who was identified by their initials.
Should he post bond, he would also be instructed to have no access to the internet. Further court action is scheduled for October 14th. Klingenberg has entered a not guilty plea to the charges, which carry a combined maximum sentence of 250 years in prison.
