Fatal Car vs Buggy Crash In Clark County

One person is dead after the horse drawn buggy they were in was involved in a crash on CTH K north of Spencer Road in the town of Loyal.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of the crash at about 2:51 PM, on Saturday August 9, 2025. Initial investigation indicates that a buggy was north bound on CTH K north of Spencer Road when a van that was also north bound struck it from the rear.  Both the buggy and van came to rest in the east ditch.  The buggy had 2 passengers in it. The adult passenger died at the scene of the crash and the 12 year old passenger was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center with serious injuries. The van had one passenger in it who was not injured.

The Loyal Area Fire and Ambulance Service responded to the scene with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Marshfield Fire Ambulance Service and the Clark County Coroner’s Office. The investigation of the crash is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Coroner’s Office and State Patrol.   

The names of everyone involved are not being released at this time.
