16-Year-Old Arrested for Attempting to Flee From Police

A 16-year-old from Unity was cited after trying to flee from police.
According to a report from the Marshfield Police Department, on August 1st, around 10pm, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Central Ave near McMillian Street for a traffic violation.
The vehicle then increased its speed and turned its lights off in an attempt to flee. The pursuit went on for approximately 5 miles though multiple jurisdictions during which the operator drove through a ditch and a residential yard before coming to a stop.
The driver, a 16-year-old Unity male, and an 18-year-old male passenger, from Stratford, were taken into custody. The driver was cited and later released to his mother. The passenger was also released.
