Cadott Woman Appears in Chippewa County Court for Theft From Area Organizations

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) A not guilty plea is entered for a Cadott woman charged with business theft in Chippewa County.
According to WEAU staff, an arraignment took place July 23, 2025, for 44-year-old Nicole Ruhe. A not guilty plea is now entered for Ruhe, who is charged with two counts of theft-business setting (> $5,000-$10,000) and one count of theft-business setting (> $2,500- $5,000).
A jury trial is to be scheduled at a later time. According to the criminal complaint, Ruhe was the treasurer for multiple organizations including the Boys Scouts of America Troop 65, the Cadott Basketball Association, and the Cadott Community Association.
Per the criminal complaint, in the time frame of 2021-2024, it is suspected Ruhe stole money from two of the three organizations. In interviews, Ruhe admitted taking and using money from two of the three organizations and not returning it.
According to the criminal complaint, a Boy Scouts of America account was believed to be missing $4,095.03. An account for the Cadott Basketball Association was believed to be missing around $5,159.
