SUDER OFF BUDGET-WRITING COMMITTEE

An area state representative is losing his place on the powerful Joint Finance Committee as Democrats take control of the legislature.Rep. Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) has served on the committee tasked with writing state budgets since 2006.
Democrats took control of the Assembly in November and picked up more seats on the 16-member panel.
Assembly minority leader Jeff Fitzgerald announced this week that Phil Montgomery (R-Ashwaubenon) and Robin Vos (R-Racine) are his picks for the JFC.
They?ll have their work cut out for them. The state is facing a $5-billion budget deficit.
