Man Enters Plea for Shooting Incident in Wausau

Thursday, July 24th, 2025 -- 2:00 PM

(Chris Conley, WSAU) A sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 6th for Nicholas Multani, 19, in a shooting incident from 2023.

According to Chris Conley with WSAU, Multani pled guilty to charges of recklessly endangering safety and being a felon in possession of a firearm. A criminal complaint says he fired his gun on the 800 block of South 3rd Avenue after getting into an argument with people who lived there.

There were no injuries. Multaini fled the area, and was caught two months later sleeping in a car in Racine. Judge Rick Cveykus will hear arguments from prosecutors and a defense lawyer before announcing the sentence.

Five other criminal charges were dismissed, but were read into the record. They can also be considered at sentencing.
