One of Wausau’s Closed Elementary Schools has Been Purchased

(Chris Conley, WSAU) One of the four elementary schools that were closed in the Wausau School District has been sold.

(According to Chris Conley with WSAU, the Wausau Board of Education announced Monday that Hawthorn Hills Elementary School was sold to Faith Christian Academy.

The sale price was not announced, but will likely become public before the sale closes in mid-August. Two other closed schools, Grant Elementary and Hewitt-Texas, are still on the market. A fourth school, Lincoln Elementary, is being repurposed into a district wide 4K center.

The elementary schools were closed in June at the end of the current school year because of declining enrollment.
