Person Arrested After Shooting Incident in Abbotsford
Thursday, July 10th, 2025 -- 1:01 PM
(Mike Leischner, WSAU) An unidentified person is in jail after an argument that led to a shooting incident in Abbotsford over the holiday weekend.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, police say the fight started at a bar in Colby on July 5th. When one group left, the second followed them to a home in Abbotsford.
The group was told they should leave because one woman was upset and had a gun. She came out of the house and fired at the group as they were driving away, according to witnesses.
Officers collected evidence at the scene but did not take the suspect into custody. A be on the lookout (BOLO) was issued for the suspect’s vehicle. Officers caught up to her the next morning thanks to FLOCK traffic cameras.
Officers caught up to her, but she didn’t immediately pull over, leading them to conduct a “high-risk traffic stop” in a nearby parking lot, where she was taken into custody.
Investigators believe the argument centered around previous relationships. No one was injured in the shooting. No further information, including the names of those involved, has been released.
Police say the suspect will make her initial court appearance on Friday.
